All About Birds and Bike Rides ...

Felt like birding after a long time

1st june 2017: The pond @ the NRI Complex Birding Area was full of Flamingos today. I could not resist and went for a walk at 6:15 am. Had a great time; the lighting was great and  captured a lot of birds in close up. By the time, I reached the flamingos had already started leaving, but I did manage to capture some nice shots of flamingos too. But the most exciting part was the spotting a new bird (for me) – Asian Paradise-flycatcher.

Asian Paradise-flycatcher, I believe are summer time visitors here on Western India. It is now called Indian Paradise-flycatcher

Other good catches were

  • Black-Winged Stilt
  • Indian Pond Heron fishing from the pond
  • Ashy Prinia
  • Common Kingfisher
  • Little Egret
  • Wire-tailed Swallow
  • Indian Cormorant
  • Striated Heron

Also, clicked

  • Yellow Sac Spider
  • And some beautiful reflection shots of trees around
