Navi Mumbai is a heaven for Birders

Navi Mumbai has water bodies everywhere and almost all of them are rich in variety of birds. Generally, I visit the different place around Nerul. On Sunday, 11th Feb 2018, I had to take my Son for his Olympiad exams to Sanjeevani International School in Sector 18, Kharghar. Opposite to the school, there is open space and Naturally created water bodies. I was lucky that I carried my camera with me and was able to capture the following birds.

  • Little Cormorant – I have never seen so many cormorants together
  • Indian Cormorant
  • Little Egrets
  • Intermediate Egrets
  • Cattle Egret
  • Black-headed Ibis
  • Indian Robin
  • Asian Pied Starling
  • Black Kite
  • Purple Herons –
  • Indian Pond Heron
  • Western Reef Egret – I spotted it for the first time
  • Lots of Little Stint
